Winners of Bring Your Bag to Shop Campaign emerge in Uyo

… organizers urges shoppers to key into the use of eco-friendly bags

Ten winners yesterday January 28th, emerged in the just concluded campaign against the use of single platics bags tagged “BRING YOUR BAG TO SHOP”(BYBTS) Campaign, sponsored by Well Of Science, a social enterprise organisation.

Each winner was given a shopping voucher to shop goods worth ten thousand naira till February 5th, 2023 at Nteps Mall, Uyo in support of the campaign against the use of single plastic bag (Nylons).

Chief Executive Officer, Well of Science, Mr. Etia Nwaenang said the value-driven campaign is to provides an alternative to environmentally harmful single-use plastic bags and provide shoppers with durable and reusable bags.

Mr. Nwaenang explained that ShoppersBag is an eco-friendly bags that is safe, and made of 100 per cent biodegradable material which help to reduce the amount of plastic waste in our environment.

He said “ShoppersBag is offering Nigerian a new and sustainable lifestyle. It is the latest innovation in the World, aimed at promoting and encouraging people to visit the stores and malls with their own bags, to serve the planet from single use plastic.”

“We are going to take advantage of the Easter period were people do much shopping to encourage them to shop with their ShoppersBag. I must say that Akwa Ibomite are clean people. The acceptability of ShoppersBag is very good and we are moving to create awareness in different stores and malls.”

“We have our bags in INELS, Nteps Mark, Made In Akwa Ibom Show-Room and many other shopping malls.”

Nwaenang, stressed that, Well of Science is working to change the narrative of single use plastic bags, which according to him has an average life span of about 1,000 years, and are later dumped into landfills, gutters and rivers to cause pollution leading to various health challenges.

Speaking in support of the campaign, Manage of Nteps Mark Mr. Edidiong Philimon said ShoppersBag is a new lifestyle which people must embrace in order to reduce plastic waste in our environment.

He informed that, Nteps Mark is in support of ShoppersBag having seen the health and economic benefits to mankind.

On their part, some users/winners of ShoppersBag voucher, Mr. Otobong Williams, Affiong Dickson,said ShoppersBag is a creative way to reduce the wastes in the society, urges shoppers to key into the use of eco friendly bags.
