The First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel will on Wednesday this week, be honoured by the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists, with an award of excellence on “Girl-Child and Women Development.”
The award is in recognition of her selfless contributions to the welfare of the girl-child, women and other vulnerable members of the society.
This year’s Africa Regional Network Conference of the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists will be taking place Wednesday, 26th to Friday, 28th June at the 1000-seater capacity TETFUND Hall, Main Campus of the University of Uyo.
The theme of the conference is “Sustainable Innovations in STEM Developments: Challenges and Way Forward”.
Other personalities expected at the event include the Minister of Education, Vocational and Professional Training, Burundi, Prof. Janviere NDIRAHISHA who will deliver the keynote address, while guests speakers are the New York-based President of International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists Gail Mattson, Dr. Sarah Peers from the United Kingdom, Engr. Sylvia Kegel from Germany, Dr. Akanimo Odon of Lancaster University, UK and Prof. Francisca Bassey of the University of Calabar.
