The Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo has commended His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for visible infrastructural development in the state capital.
The Chairman gave the commendation during the inauguration of the 3.32km Ring Road II Dual Carriageway known as Sampson Udoidiong Drive in Uyo by the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel on Friday, April 14, 2023.
Welcoming His Excellency and other dignitaries to Uyo Local Government Area, Dr. Udo expressed the people’s delight over the developmental strides of Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration in the city center.
“Your Excellency, we are proud of you, and as always, we are appreciative of what you have done here, the beautiful piece of infrastructure that you have put on the soil of Uyo LGA. The citizens and residents of Uyo are proud that you have not just given us a road, but you have taken flood water off this area.
Your Excellency, Uyo people are happy that you have not only put faith and strong character into leadership but have given us an enduring legacy of this infrastructure. Thank you for all that you have done.”
Dr. Udo also noted that the Sampson Udoidiong Drive ( Ring Road II) which is strategically positioned, would go a long way to reduce traffic gridlock usually experienced along Abak Road by the Mechanic Village as it connects the information structure of the state–the Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Center and the State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).
Speaking further, the Uyo helmsman appreciated the timely intervention of the state government in sending relief materials to victims of windstorm disaster in some communities in Uyo.
“We thank the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for the quick intervention that you gave to us.
Over the weekend, some communities in my Local Government were ravished by windstorms that rendered many people homeless.
Your Excellency, you moved very quickly and sent in the first set of relief materials to the victims to ameliorate their sufferings. For this we say, thank you. We are grateful to you for being a true father to us, and for being a mentor and pacesetter in leadership.”
