Udofia Harps On Early Resumption, Commitment by teachers as the new academic session begins

As public and private primary and secondary schools in Akwa Ibom state resume activities on Monday, 13th September 2021, for the 2021/2022 academic session, Heads of schools, teachers have been asked to comply with the resumption date of the state government and discharge their professional responsibilities creditably, with commitment and zeal towards actualising, building the Akwa Ibom state of our dream educationally.

The Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Education Monitoring, Akparawa Udeme Udofia gave the charge during his routine monitoring of schools in Ibiono Ibom LGA.


He used the opportunity and called on parents in the state to allow their children/wards to resume immediately for the 2021/2022 academic session to fully actualise academic activities within the stipulated time frame.

At Union Secondary School, Ibiaku, one of the missionary schools recently taken over by the Akwa Ibom state government, The SA commended the Principal, Mrs Alice Ekong, For addressing teachers ahead of resumption, appealed that the school environment is kept tidy to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.

He general warns against the illegal collection of unauthorized levies from incoming students while stating that any Principal or School Head caught will be sanctioned.

Udofia also visited Presbyterian Senior Science School, Ididep still in Ibiono, to monitor the ongoing West Africa, senior secondary certificate Examination where he urged the staff of the school to be dedicated to their duties at all times to upgrade the standard of the school, more so, as the ministry would no longer tolerate any form of indiscipline

He said as teachers, they should strive to impact positively on the lives of their students which he said would bring about fulfilment in their careers as teachers.

The Etinan born administrator charged the Principals of the schools to ensure that they devised means to curb indiscipline and inject modern techniques in teaching and learning in their schools. He also encouraged principals to rotate responsibilities among vice-principals working with them to adequately prepare them to take up responsibilities and be committed as principals when promoted.


The astute administrator spoke strongly against examination malpractice, warning culprits to desist or be caught and sanctioned appropriately.
