SMART HEALTH COMPASS FOUNDATION,AN NGO PARTNERS HON EKOI OBONG ON MEDICAL OUTREACH IN NSIT ATAI

Smart Health Compass Foundation, an organization known for its numerous medical outreach to the less privilege has ones again demonstrated her determination to kick out health challenges in Nsit Atai local government Area, as they have partnered Hon Ekoi Obong on free medical services to the people.

The Chief Executive officer of Smart Health Compass Foundation Dr. Uduak Ukoh said the outreach was to support and put smiles on the faces of others by helping them.

Dr. Ukoh explained that the outreach is intended to create awareness on breast cancer, prostate Cancer and other preventable health conditions ,such as heart disease and hypertension ravaging the community with special emphasis on early detection which she explains is,the key and can serve life. Ukoh, who is a preventive health Physician maintained that Life style modification with good diet could help to prevent this conditions thank the Sponsor for the opportunity and passion for his community.

On his part the sponsor of the outreach Hon.Elder Ekoi Obong in a welcome address thanked the Doctors for coming, enjoined the villagers to take advantage of the outreach and get tested and treated. He explained that the actions is not politically motivated but is part of his gesture to, give back to the community.

He noted that the outreach was borne out of the need to improve the health care conditions of the people of His community.

Another Lecturer Dr. Utomobong Udo in company with other Doctor’s, enlighten the community on the risk factors for all the Illnesses diagnosed which include Heart diseases, hypertension, Diabetes mellitus, malaria , ulcers and many more.He insisted that all these illnesses are preventable and educated them on possible preventive measures. He further advised them on the need for regular medical checkups.

Dr Blessing Ndem specfically took sessions of breast examination and investigations.

The Doctors altogether lauded the ingunity of Hon. Ekoi Obong for the love he has for his community in sponsoring such event as the country was gaping for survival due to the effects of covid-19 pandemic.

They thanked God for helping them to carry out the exercise successfully, appreciated the entire community for coming while calling on well-meaning citizen and Governments at all levels to help restore Health to communities.

Besides the free medications, Other highklights of the events were free ultrasound scan for women with breast lumps, free ultrasound scan for elderly men and men with symptoms of prostate enlargement, blood glucose and blood pressure checks, RDT for malaria parasites,counselling and referral among others.
