Mothers of the Sanctified Mount Zion Church (Obot Uboho), has been urged to train their children to be become useful to the society.
Deaconess Jessy Etokidem, President General, Uyo Diocese women fellowship made the call yesterday, May 23rd while marking World Mothers Day.
She said she was grateful to God as a mother who is in the known of what motherhood is all about, as it is a period one has to undergo sound tutelage in order to be well equipped with the rudiments of child upbringing.
“My advise to women is that they should continue to encourage themselves to bring up their children in doing the right thing.

“They should train the female youths in a way that they would be wonderful mothers. To be a mother is a thing of joy, but it is not something that women should rush into,” she said.
Speaking on the theme: “Mother’s Where is your Wrappers” Deaconess Etokidem explained that a women is not the creation of herself, but God peculiar people created by God to serve as a help mate to man.
She noted that A woman should carry a mark of distinction, which is humility and hard work. Disclosed that the Theme for this year’s celebration ” Women where’s your wrappers is apt, as wrappers are symbol of protection to women, a symbol of dignity and many other things.

Earlier in her address the, Chairman planning committee for this year’s celebration Deaconess Mable Ekanem, said mothers deserved to be honoured everyday, and not just every year. She said Every woman must uphold her marriage, be faithful to God and to her husband, she enjoined mothers to assist their husbands in running the home.
Mabel, a journalist urged everyone to recognise the value of women and the role they play in the family, community and the society at large.
“It is a privilege to be a mother and be alive to see our children growing, doing good under the tutelage of God. I give kudos to women because there are so many of them who are playing the role of men in the home.” she added.



In their separate remarks, Mrs. Ofomnbuk Akpan, Mfon Etokidem, Idaresite Okon and Nse Nta
said women should allow Jesus to take the centre stage in their homes and situations, commended the planning committee for making this year’s Mother’s Day celebration a unique one, promised to effectively practice what they where taught in other to add value to our society.

The event which took place at Sanctified Mouth Zion Church, 25 Ibiono Street, Uyo feature presentation of cash gifts to committed Mother’s, songs rendition by children and mothers and cutting of cake.
