The Rotary Club of Uyo Urban was on top of her game at this year’s Tree Planting exercise at QIC Group School, Idoro Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
In a statement made available to the press by the Public Image Chair of the Club, Rotarian Chris Udi the project is in line with Rotary International’s latest Area of Focus geared towards “Supporting the Environment”

Club President, Rotarian Obot G. Obot, thanked the school Headmistress Mrs Margaret Effa and the Village Head of Nung Obio Enang (host community), Ette-idung James Umoh, for making it possible for the project to take place and called on them to secure and nurture the trees for the benefit of the school and the community.

In her welcome address, the Headmistress expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club, Uyo Urban for finding her School worthy to benefit from this humanitarian service and assured them that the trees will be taken care of.
In addition, the Asst Governor Zone 8, Rotarian Eka Etuk, gave a brief insight on Rotary’s Area of Focus – Supporting the Environment.
As a mark of appreciation, the event received heartfelt goodwill messages from the Education Secretary, Uyo LGA – Mr. Umoh I. Umoh, the Village Head, Youth Leader of the Community , Mr. Nsikak Eddie and President, Rotaract Club of Uyo City (Community Based), Rotaractor Aniedi Udo.

The high point of the event was the planting of economic, shade and ornamental trees by Rotarians, school Headmistress/Staff and guests.
