… Udom’s aide harps on academic excellence
It was a fun galore for pupils and students of QIC Nursey and primary school, Ikot Obio Inyang, Etinan local government Area, as the institution organized Christmas and end-of-the-year party to celebrate God’s faithfulness upon their lives.
Speaking at the occasion, Special Guest of Honor, Akparawa Udeme Udofia Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Education Monitoring thank the school for recognizing the psychomotive aspect of learning, by putting up such a programme.
He explained that the exercise will help achieve rapid and sustainable academic excellence, he also stressed need by school children to apply promptness in what they do, intoned that it will help build their stability, security self-confidence, and guarantee them success in school.

Udofia disclosed that life ultimately depends on having a solid academic background which according to him can only be gained through their promptitude to issues. “Do not forget that as a man lays his bed so he can lie on it. a lazy man cannot achieve much because of lack of confidence and promptness, life is early to bed early to rise so what you do not learn from the scratch you cannot inculcate into your life.” He submitted.
Giving insight to the theme for the celebration “Promptness:Need to academic excellence and success” he explained that promptness is a driving Force through which one learns the rudiments of efficient time management, dedication and commitments.
Earlier in his address, Director of the school Elder (Dr), Utibe Okon Akpan-Inyang said that their school end of year party is a special programme used to welcomed the students and teachers into the noble profession of learning, grooming and mentoring of their future leaders and also to mark a New beginning in their career paths.
He commended the present administration in the state which is centred on qualitative education through a responsive accessible and integrated academic system.
He stressed that the School was established to educate and nurture children who will be future leaders and administrators in the Country and much more, saying the Academy is committed to providing complete and qualitative, spiritual education with integrity to children from different backgrounds.
Speaking further, he said the state government under the leadership of His Excellency governor Udom Emmanuel has demonstrated a wide commitment in the education sector and on this note the school has declared a state of emergency on education with accompanying ongoing reform in employing degree and NCE graduate as full-time staff to further boost teaching and learning in the school.
The head teacher of the school ,Comrade James Sunday charged the parents to ensure promptness in handling children related issues to reciprocate their determination towards giving children in the locality qualitative education that will enable the compete favourably with their counterpart creditably . He lamented that most crimes perpetuated by our youth today is as a result of poor handling at their formative years and same has metamorphosed into the social vices that has become trendy in our society today.
He also solicited for support from well meaning members of the community and the environs to enable the school meet up with her basic needs especially the ongoing construction of their assembly hall and other needs.
High point of the celebration was cultural dance, songs presentation by students, debate competition, bible recitation, drama and lots more.
The event which took place December 15, at the school sports ground,had in attendance teaching non teaching staff and parents participating in various programme.
