….Participants charge on new ways of doing business

A two day training in Digital marketing and E- Commerce has ended in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital with a call on the youths to see digital marketing as the new oil well that should be embraced, hook, line and sinker. The training which was organized by NSIIMA Global Ventures in conjunction with the Ministry of Trade and Industry through Akwa Ibom Digital Entrepreneurial Society of Nigeria, was held at Sun Center, F-line, Ewet Housing Estates, Uyo.

Declaring the training opened, yesterday Thursday, 1st October. The Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Prince. Ukpong Akpabio advised the youths not to waste their data online blackmailing and insulting people but see it as a global community for wealth creation.

The Commissioner who was represented by Mr. Michael Essien Ibanga, a Director in the ministry, said Digital Marketing is one of the fat growing business across the globe which has changed people lives, added that his ministry has trained over 13,000 youths on various skills acquisition and will continue to do more.

He commended NSIIMA Global ventures for creating a platform that would alleviate poverty in our society and described his style of teaching as “UNPRECEDENTED”.

Earlier in his address, The Managing Director of NSIIMA Global Ventures, Engr. Nsisong Ntuk, who also doubles as the lead trainer, said that, at the end of the training of over 200 youth, life will change for a better, believing that it will have a multiplier effect, as each person would be well equipped on the modern marketing trends, while commending the ministry led by Prince Ukpong Udo Akpabio for sponsoring the training.

Prince Ntuk, further maintained that E- Commence has come to stay as the most reliable means of doing business across the globe, hence necessitated the training. He added that, with E- Commence one can sale to his potential clients from any location, without necessary having to hold the products in his hands or disturbing his family and friends for purchases as seen in the orthodox method that is gradually fading away.

Hear him “I’m a supporter of Governor Udom Emmanuel administration, I was moved to organized the training because I know that Government cannot do it alone, we can create wealth for our people by giving them skills and not money, and in this 21st century, digital marketing is inevitable, as far as buying and selling is concern. Lagos is seen as the economic capital of Nigeria because of key roles played by private bodies and entrepreneurs, which I believed after the training today I would have been able to create 200 direct employment to all the participants and over 1000 indirect employment by a multiplier effect of one trainee training 4 other persons”.

He used the occasion to thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the timely released of funds for the training and accelerated development in all sectors of our economy.

He further appeal to good spirited individuals, corporate bodies and the government to assist the trainees with sophisticated devices like laptops and phone to help them in the training they just acquired as some phones he saw during the live classes were embarrassing.

Explaining the technicalities in online business, he noted that sellers must sales products that are unique, available and simple to use. He expressed optimism that, at the end of the two day training, participants will become professionals in digital marketing and share ideas on emerging trends in the global market as well as key in fully into the Dakkada philosophy of his Excellency’s vision to engaged the youth.

Some of the topics taught at the training includes, E- Commerce Appreciation, Appreciating 1688.com, Purchasing From 1688, Fulfilling order’s through logistics, Mini importation, Website Hosting, copy writing, drop shipping, etc.

At the end of the training, which has ended today some of the participants who shared their experience, Mr Gray Uyanga, Mr. Emmanuel Mmedie and Emmanuel Sampson, thanked, NSIIMA Global ventures and the Ministry of Trade and Industry for the training. They described the training as “timely and apt” considering the economic drain occasioned by the novel global pandemic, COVID-19.

Some dignitaries who attended the training includes, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbole, SA to the Governor on project monitoring and Chairman of Arewa People’s Assembly, Directors and staff from the ministry of Trade and Investment, media aides to various political office holders amongst others.
