In line with the completion agenda of His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel in supporting, encouraging, maintaining and sustaining the Free And Compulsory Education Policy in Akwa Ibom State, The Vice Chairman Of Itu Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Emem Lizzy today toured round three primary schools in Oku Iboku Clan, Itu Local Government Area.

Mrs. Ekpanya who lauded the sterling and giant strides of His Excellency Governor Udom towards ensuring that the educational sector in the state has a new phase stated that it’s imperative for primary school students most especially in the rural communities to have a better and outstanding form of education with all the requirements.

In her speech, she describe education as the key to success in life which anyone who wishes to succeed should be educated, found wanting both in character and learning.

“Today, it gladdens my heart to be in your midst. I have come to fulfill part of my administrative responsibilities which is to enhance sustainable educational policies to the students of Itu Local Government Area in line with the completion agenda of His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel.

“Education is very important for the personal, social and economic development of the nation which will empowers minds that will be able to conceive good thoughts and ideas for the State and country at large for the benefit and betterment of our society”. She stated.

While speaking on behalf of the schools, the Head Mistress of the three primary schools, Cruickshank School, Oku Iboku, Government Primary School, Ayadehe, and Christ Church School all in Oku Iboku expressed satisfaction towards the kind gesture displayed by the Vice Chairman describing it as a welcome development and a way of giving back to the society through such means.

They called on Akwa Ibom State Government in Collaboration with the Ministry of Education to come to their aid by renovating some of the classroom blocks, assembly halls, offices and providing adequate security measures to protect the lives and properties of the school.

The visit feature presentation and distribution of Exercise Books, Pen, Pencils, erasers, toiletries and other writing materials to the students.
