Indigens of Ikot Iko community in Ibesikpo Asutan local government area of Akwa Ibom State have appealed to the state government to renovate the only available primary school in their community before resumption of academic activities.

Speaking with this reporter, the community members noted that the dilapidated structures in the school have become a hideout for criminal activities as young girls are reportedly abused sexually by rapists.

The community members therefore called on the state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to give the authorities concern a matching order to put the school in a good shape before academic activities, which have been put on hold because of the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, resume.
