The member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. (Obong) Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, has sympathised with one of his constituents, Miss Blessing Joseph Okon whose business premises was gutted by fire destroying property, goods and cash. Miss Okon hails from Unit 17, Ward 8, Ikono Local Government Area. The unfortunate incident occurred on the morning of Sunday, 7th July 2019, and would have been more tragic if not for the intervention of the fire service.
The Honourable Member, in his characteristic humane and magnanimous nature has directed that relief materials and business support be provided to the affected person in order to ameliorate her plight, cushion the effect of the disaster and to help restore her business.
A message of sympathy from the Honourable Member on his official Facebook and Instagram handles reads:
“I have just learnt of the devastating fire that occurred at 300 Nwaniba road on the morning of Sunday, 7th July 2019, and I wish to offer my deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Miss Blessing Joseph Okon (from Unit 17, Ward 8, in Ikono L.G.A) and all those who have been affected by this tragedy. I have some sense of the seriousness of your loss and will send some financial support on behalf of myself and my office to help revive your business.
