Councillors of Ikono extraction, under the aegis of Ikono Councillors Forum, today paid a courtesy visit to the member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo.
The courtesy visit, which was the first of its kind by any group since the member assumed office, took place at his Uyo residence and it was aimed at providing the councillors an opportunity to interface directly with the member, feel his pulse and discuss salient issues bordering on the wellbeing and future of the constituency.
The Councillors, who took time out to enumerate the landmark strides of the member, lauded him for his superlative performance in the Green Chambers in his short time so far in office. They disclosed that despite the exigencies of their official duties, they made it a point of duty to keenly follow and observe his activities, expressing utmost satisfaction with the quality of his representation. They also prayed God to grant him more grace to deliver service to Ikono/Ini people and take him to enviable heights.
In his response, the member expressed his pleasant surprise at the gesture of the councillors and thanked them for deeming it fit to call on him despite their tight schedule. He promised not to renege on his commitment to positively reposition the constituency and assured them of their continuous relevance in the scheme of things.
The highpoint of the occasion was the passage of a vote of confidence on the Ikono/Ini Representative by the leader of the Ikono legislature, Hon. Samuel Udoh, seconded by the deputy leader, Hon. AnwangaAbasi Udofia.
