The Akwa Ibom State Hospitals Management Board has organized an orientation program for newly employed Medical Doctors in the State.
The orientation which is based on work etiquette as well as professional core values held in the conference room of the Board recently.
The Chairman of the Board, Dr David Udo-Umo while addressing the Doctors, described them as a fresh breathe into the Healthcare system and as such, the narrative of the Healthcare delivery in Akwa Ibom State must change.

He said, “what makes a hospital is not how beautiful the structure is but the people and the services rendered there.”
Dr. David Udo-Umo while explaining the rationale for the orientation said, it was imperative to improve their ability for a greater level of effectiveness at work.
He advised that though their expectations and experiences may not be in sync but they could find a niche and be a beginning of solutions.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board, Mrs Stella Etukakpan welcomed the newly employed doctors and implored them to exude professionalim, discipline, integrity, humility and great care built on patient centered care in the discharge of their noble duties.
Mrs. Etukakpan charged them to reciprocate Government’s huge investment in the Health Sector by living up to expectations and discharging their duties according to international best practices.
She charged the Doctors to see their employment into the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service as an opportunity to contribute their quota to ensure the best of health care services in the State.
Earlier, the Director of Medical Services, Dr David Etukessien in his welcome address noted that the orientation was necessary to enhance the efficiency of the newly employed Doctors to deliver on the task ahead.
He urged them to take full advantage of the opportunity that the Management has given them through the orientation program.
