The member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Archibong has today, Thursday 21 November, 2019, presented three bills for first reading before the hallowed chamber of the House of Representatives.
The first is a “Bill to Establish Maternal New Born and Child Welfare Health Services and Other Matters Connected Therewith”, which when passed to law will ensure adequate welfare and health care delivery services for pregnant women, lactating mothers, new born and children in the country.
The second, “A Bill for the Establishment of Federal College of Agriculture in Oku Iboku in Itu Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State and Related Matters” seeks to provide extensive tertiary training in agriculture and production of agricultural experts through the establishment of the College at Oku Iboku.
The third is a “Bill to Control Industrial Waste and Water Pollution and other Matters Connected Therewith”, and is aimed at promoting the sanitary conditions of the environment and curbing pollution related health hazards in the country.
Dr. Archibong is expected to lead a brilliant debate on the general principles and detailed structural ingredients covering the Bills when they come up for second reading.
