Governor’s Aide Harps on Strict Adherence to Covid-19 Safety Measures as Students, Pupils Return to Schools in Akwa Ibom

The Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Education Monitoring, Akparawa Udeme Udofia has tasked the various heads of public primary and secondary schools on strict adherence to state government’s directive on the Post Covid-19 resumption of schools in Akwa Ibom.

Akparawa Udofia who is in charge of Eket Senatorial District, stated this when he led his team to monitor some schools in Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin and Onna Local Government Areas.

He charged members of staff, students and pupils to stronly observe basic Covid-19 safety guidelines of proper usage of face mask, regular washing of hands or use of hand sanitizers, social distancing and avoidance of unnecessary hugs and touches.

The SA encouraged the heads of schools visited to ensure that all the staff get involved in teaching and learning activities, even as students and pupils were charged to take their studies very serious, as the third term is very short.

Basic records, mode of dressing and teaching were checked, proper ethical behaviour and professionalism were also encouraged.

The schools visited include; Oniong Central RCM School, Ikot Ndudot/Okom, Onna. Secondary Commercial School, Ibekwe, Ikot Abasi. St Theresa’s Catholic School, Ikot Abasi. Asong Community Grammer School, Asong, Mkpat Enin. St John’s Catholic School, Asong, Mkpat Enin.

Others are; Community Secondary Commercial School, Ikot Ebiere, Onna. Nung Oku Itina Community Secondary School, Ikot Mbong, Onna. Government School, Ikot Ataudo and ACC School, Awa Ubium, Onna.
