The Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, says he is satisfied with the pace and quality of work done at the Four Point by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene.
Etteh was speaking during his maiden visit to the facility which is one of the projects under his ministry’s purview.
He said the visit was part of his efforts at assessing firsthand, all the projects of the ministry with a view to ensuring their completion on schedule.
The commissioner directed the contractor to replace worn-out materials.
Rt. Hon. Etteh emphasized that the governor was interested in the completion of the hotel and expressed the hope that full scale operation of the facility would begin in September.
The hotel Managing Director for Marriott’s Group, Mr Robb, who received the Hon. Commissioner’s delegation, also conducted the team round the facility pleaded that those critical areas which needed urgent attention would be given priority.
Areas inspected included the ground floor which accommodates the bar, conference Hall, ballroom and kitchen.
He also inspected the mechanical floor as well as the external surrounding area of the facility.
Meanwhile, the hotel which is constructed by Rennesians Nigeria Construction Company and managed by Marriott’s Group is expected to be ready for operation by September.
The delegation comprised the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Duties, Engr. Richard Ekpe, Directors and Heads of unit.
