Hon. Ukai Udeme

The Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Dr Uwemedimo E. Udo, has garnered widespread commendations for initiating bursary payments to students of Uyo origin.

The most recent accolade comes from former Acting Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, who lauded the Chairman’s significant contribution to the student community in the area.

In an interview with newsmen at his office in Uyo, Hon. Emmanuel expressed strong support for Dr. Udo’s leadership and conveyed a vote of confidence in him. He highlighted Dr. Udo’s visionary and results-driven approach in all aspects of leadership.

Hon. Emmanuel stated, “In my assessment of Dr. Uwemedimo Udo’s tenure over the past two and a half years, I must say he has performed admirably. Dr. Udo has accomplished tasks that we could not during our time in office. One notable achievement that caught my attention was the completion of the Administrative Block at the council.”

“What particularly impressed me,” Hon. Emmanuel continued, “is the recent initiative to provide bursaries to students of Uyo origin. This is something I had aspired to do during my brief tenure as Acting Chairman but could not realise due to time constraints. Dr. Udo’s achievement in this regard was remarkable, and I personally congratulated him over the phone.”

Hon. Ukai Emmanuel also commended Dr. Udo for enhancing peace in Uyo since taking office. He gave the Chairman an 85% approval rating and encouraged students to fully support Dr. Udo’s administration, emphasising his commitment to serving the people of Uyo Local Government.
