Canada-based oil trader Akan Udofia has offered employment at Desicon Engineering Limited, Port Harcourt branch to Ubong Umoren, the elder sister to the late Miss Iniubong Umoren.
Udofia, who is the MD/CEO Desicon Group, an engineering, procurement and construction services company, made the announcement Saturday, May 8 when he paid a condolence visit to the family of Umoren at Obio Ndot, Oruk Anam local government area, Akwa Ibom.
The philanthropist, on hearing about the death of Iniubong, a job seeker who was lured through fake job openings by her assailant, had to cut short his business trip and return to Akwa Ibom to condole with the Umoren family.
The Desicon Boss expressed deep sadness at the loss of Iniubong and further stated that “it is a very tragic development” and that he will liaise with relevant authorities to ensure that justice is gotten for the 26-year-old.
Mr. Udofia accompanied by his business associates reiterated the fact that he has become a member of the Umoren family and thus they can count on him as a strong ally.
He said the employment offer to the elder sister to the deceased takes effect Immediately.
Also present at the condolence visit was the MD/CEO of Osmoserve Global Limited Mr. Scott Tommey, the CEO Hadnuvo Nigerian Limited, Mr. Ovundah Akaraolu, the Director Osmoserve Global Limited, Mr. Eugene Oki and also Mr. John Akpan.
Meanwhile, according to Ventures Africa Rich List, in 2014, Akan Udofia was worth over $1 billion.
