Akparawa Udeme Udofia hails some Principals of Schools within Uyo Senatorial District
……..describes them as worthy ambassadors of the teaching profession
The Director of Education, Uyo Senatorial District of the State Secondary Education Board, Akparawa Udeme Udofia has commended the commitment and dedication of some Principals of Schools in Uyo Senatorial District for keeping their schools under check and in tandem with the ARISE agenda of the Government of Akwa Ibom State under the leadership of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, with regards to education.
Akparawa Udofia gave the recommendations during his routine inspection of schools within the district. In one of the schools visited the Director had this to say to the Principal, “You are among the very crop of teachers that has made the teaching profession enviable. Keep up the good work. Since you resumed as the principal this school and its environ has enjoyed relative peace, and the learning environment is very conducive now”.
He used the opportunity to admonish teachers who exhibited truancy, fond of skipping classes or attending school without engaging the students positively, saying, “Keeping them busy will draw away their minds from social vices”. While speaking with some school heads, Udofia encouraged them to emulate those who were doing well, motivate the young teachers to grow into role models in society, and have respect for the hierarchy.
Schools that the Director and his team visited were; Cornelia Connelly College, Uyo, West Itam Secondary Commercial School, Ekit Itam 2, Itu; Community Secondary School, Aka Offot, Uyo; Nsit Peoples Grammar School, Afaha Offiong, Nsit Ibom; Ibesikpo Secondary Commercial School, Nung Udoe, Ibesikpo Asutan; Community Secondary Commercial School, Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo and Uyo High School, Uyo.
