Leadership of Akwa Ibom Medical Student has commended the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Prince Ukpong Akpabio for identifying with his people in the spirit of Christmas and new year season, through medical outreach, as part of activities to mark his birthday in Essien Udim LGA.
The health awareness and enlightenment campaign which was organized with the aim to prepare the people to enjoy good health at Christmas and as part of activities to mark the Commissioner’s birthday, featured among others;
✔️ lectures on preventive measures for common health issues
✔️Free malaria test,
✔️Free blood sugar test
✔️Free blood pressure check
✔️Free consultations and diagnosis
✔️Free eye examination, and distribution of medicated glasses.
Speaking shortly after arriving at the venue of the outreach, the sponsor, Prince Ukpong Akpabio said the gesture was a demonstration of his intention to always give back to his people especially at the time of Christmas when good health is very key . He said that having known that health is wealth it was important for him to ensure that
his people are healthy in this season.
Akpabio regretted the fact that not everyone here could afford basic medical cheek up, however used the opportunity to call on members of the Community to make good use of the opportunity to present themselves for medical check-up so as to ensure that they were fine and healthy.
The Commissioner equally thanked the Leadership of Akwa Ibom Medical Students for putting the awareness campaign together, adding that the people of the Community are grateful for their labour of love.
Also speaking at the event was the Naakims Worldwide president, Comr. Utomobong Udo who appreciated the University of Uyo chapter led by the President, Come. Elijah Ukpong for marking adequate arrangement that made the event huge success. He particularly Thanked the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Prince Ukpong Akpabio for such wonderful love that he showed to his people by ensuring that they’re healthy and prayed for God’s blessing upon the Commissioner. He used the medium to call on the public to make good use of the opportunity as provided by the Honourable Commissioner and also appealed to other well positioned members of the public to emulate the Commissioner in giving opportunities to persons who cannot afford those opportunities.
Community leaders, family heads and patients in their separate speeches showered God’s blessings on the Commissioner for coming to their aid and prayed God to Bless him while appreciating the medical Student for a job well done.
