A’IBOM COMMISSIONER FOR SPECIAL DUTIES AND AVIATION DONATES EXERCISE BOOKS TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN ITU

The Commissioner for Special Duties and Aviation, Engr. Bassey Okon has donated writing materials to students in public secondary schools in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The benefitting schools were African Church Secondary Commercial School Oku Iboku, Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Oku Iboku, and Government Technical College, Ayadehe all in Itu local government Area.

Presenting the items to the students on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, the Secretary, of Unity Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Mabel Ekanem, who represented the Honorable Commissioner urged the students to make judicious use of the books and be serious in their academic pursuit.

According to her, the exercise books donated by Dr. Bassey Okon are part of his contributions to support and uplift the standard of education in the area.

The books specially customized have the Dakadda creed and Akwa Ibom State Anthem to further highlight the determination of the state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to change the narrative of the Akwa Ibom children from that of slavery to attending enviable greatness.

The Principals of the benefiting schools described the gesture as milk of human kindness, noting that the gesture has relieved parents who could not afford sufficient writing materials for their children while praying to God to bless the Honourable Commissioner and take him higher for more humanitarian services.
