A Non Governmental organization “ACORN Foundation For The Poor” whose mission is to improve the standard of education, as well as advance the course of learning has put smiles on the faces of pupils studying at Methodist Central Primary school, Etoi in Uyo by providing them with school uniforms.

Speaking during the presentations, President of the foundation, Mr. Etido Anthony said the foundation is aimed at catering for the orphaned, widows, less privileged and vulnerable children who cannot afford the basic needs of life.
He said the foundation discovered that many of the indigent students were doing well academically but lacked the necessary resources, hence the assistant, with a promised that more will come in batches.

He advised the students to be hardworking and take their education seriously and promised that the foundation will do her best to advocate and provide a better environment for their academic progress.
The president also added that, the distribution of the uniform is the first batch of the project, assuring that more will come in batches.
In his words, “this is the first ever project of the foundation , more batches are in the pipeline.”

In her remarks, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Ekaette Johnson thanked the foundation for their generosity and advised the students to be hardworking and maintain the uniforms, prayed
God to bless and reward members of Acorn Foundation richly.
The distribution which took place Wednesday, July 13th had in attendance, Vice president Dr. Victoria Chioma Anunobi. Secretary of the Foundation, Comr. Emmanuel Sampson, Organizing Secretary, Comr. Utomobong Udoh.

Others include. Mfoniso Archibong, Miss. Harmony Moses, Mr. Felix Kufre, Mrs. Edo Essang and Mr. Felix Bright Adagba all members of the foundation.
