Ahead of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria, the Convener of New Nigeria Group NNG Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has declared his intention to join the contest in order to build a Nigeria of our dream.
In a chat with newsmen in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital immediately after inauguration of state exco of the group, the Founder of Sam Ohuabunwa Foundation said he offered himself for a true leadership having seen the lacuna which have exited over decades without tangible achievement or even hope for the upcoming generation.

“I am motivated to offer myself because like many Nigerians, I have been concerned that our country is not making as much progress as we expected it to make. We are concerned that our nation could be better for our children and grandchildren if right leaders are given the chance to do the right things.”
He said that Nigeria is currently in bad shape, with alarming cases of insecurity and economic challenges, despite enormous natural resources God has blessed the country with, urged people across all political zone to give him a chance to make the difference.
He noted that his group “New Nigeria” is already impacting on the economic activities of Nigerians with laudable potential to transform our nation. “NNG is about like-minded Nigerians who are determined to install enlightened, visionary and committed leadership in Nigeria.”
“Our aim is to get rid of poverty, optimise the country’s human and material resources in order to attain global competitiveness and, most importantly, build a nation where justice, equity, knowledge, integrity and fair play reign supreme.” Ohuabunwa assured.

However, the septuagenarian, said he will place youths at the top of his administration, re-positioned and helped them to release their ample potential that will motivate the country to optimize its human and material resources to attain global competitiveness, as well as spur investment in the moribund industries.
The president, pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, who has made his fortune in the medical field, disclosed that one of the ways to turn Nigeria from a third world country to a first world country is restructuring and true federalism.

He decried lack of creativity and transparency by our leaders, as factors still keeping the country in total decay, call on Nigerians to work with him to enthrone a righteous government who will listen to the yearning of people, as failure to act will be disastrous in the nearest future.
At the end of the parley, those inaugurated to serve as Akwa Ibom State Exco includes; Rev.J.B Effiong, Chairma. Dr Etido Ibekwe, Vice Chairman. Eld. Edet Eniang, Secretary.
Others are, Mr Tony Okpon, Uyo Senatorial District Coordinator.
Chief Atako Okporo, Eket Senatorial District Coordinator and Pharm. Isong Isang, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Coordinator.
In his acceptance speech, the state chairman Rev.J B Effiong on behalf of other appointee appreciated the leadership of NNG for giving them the opportunity to serve the group in the above capacity. Promised to worked in tandem with the convener’s vision to birth a new Nigeria.
